On a Commerce Kickstart-based site, I created a “Brand” vocabulary/taxonomy term list that is a field on all product types.
I would like to display a product catalog of all products the brand offers by product type/category.
I have created a new content pane and added the “contextual filter” to reference the “Indexed Node: Brand”.
Under the “PANE SETTINGS”, I edited the Argument Input to
Indexed Node: Brand source
"From context"
"Taxonomy Term >> Term ID"
but I failed to get the view to show on the brand taxonomy term page.
However, when I switched to:
Indexed Node: Brand source
"From panel argument"
Panel Argument = "First"
The desired view/content is rendered.
**Can someone explain the difference in these two approaches and what I am missing in the first instance?
I am planning on creating additional views that build off of shared attributes, so want to make sure I have a handle on the “contextual filters” and “relationship” attributes before getting out of my depth.
**Is it possible to create a view based on the content of a shared field, e.g. show all “RED” items if selected in a field_color
.
Thanks,
Katie
